Ask Mama Amy Episode 10: Aging Through Motherhood
Christine Lee is the Founder and Managing Director of Casa Companion Homecare Solutions, a successful home care agency providing in-home care to seniors in San Diego County. In 2015, Christine co-founded the first Daughterhood Circle in San Diego. Daughterhood Circle is a support group and brain trust for caregivers dealing with the challenges of eldercare. While maintaining her role in the community, Christine is also a mother to three daughters, all under five years old, and a daughter of an aging mother.
Christine shares the biggest challenge she has faced in her life. Two weeks after finding out she was pregnant with her first child, Christine was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since she was pregnant, Christine was limited in treatment options and was forced to make decisions no mother should have to make. Together, Christine and her husband patiently waited nine months to bring their first daughter into the world before beginning the appropriate treatment for her cancer. Christine says her mother’s example of what strength looks like in motherhood has guided her through navigating her own challenges with motherhood.
Tune into this week’s episode of AskMamaAmy to learn more about the importance of long-term care and how Christine has managed to maintain her career while balancing motherhood and being a caregiver.
